Statment of Belief

Statement of Belief

Big data has the powerful potential to uncover hidden patterns and predict an otherwise obscured future, but its capacity to solve our toughest challenges hinges on our ability to bridge its code to a complexly textured reality. Data must be linked to the daily lives of real people and underlying motivations if we are to unlock its secret story. Predictive models and bar charts without context will never be more than the outline of a paint by numbers kit; it is a map to the treasure but not the treasure itself.

Only by gracefully balancing revolutionary AI techniques with subtler qualitative methodologies can data-driven strategy have meaning and lasting influence. If businesses and policymakers take time to listen to the pulse of their audience and explore the human connections running through statistical models, we can decode the deeper narrative and wield data’s full potential to drive strategy, create efficiency, and generate impact.
